A distributor new to Network Marketing once
wrote in:
"My mother really keeps me upset most of the time . . . I
have overcome a lot problems in my life time. I have spent most
of my life trying to get my parents' approval. I know I need to
move on from that and I believe now that I can. I have people
around me who are afraid for me to get successful because they
seem to fear that my relationship with them will change. Until
I joined your organization, I hadn't been around positive thinking
people, I always wanted to be, but I hadn't found to many of them
until now. That is why I like meeting with the other people in
our group regularly."
Her message here is classic and normal. MOST people don't experience
much—if any—personal growth UNTIL they get involved in a strong
support team with a good Network Marketing company! Many of them
CRAVE the social interaction and the joy of (finally!) being around
positive people! Change takes time and often requires REPEATED
exposures to positive influences before people muster the COURAGE
to start changing, and then it takes MORE encouragement and building
of BELIEF that making the necessary sacrifices TO change are worth
the pain—IN ORDER TO GET THE REWARDS.
This is the classic journey of the hero—and it's thousands of
years old—the hero must go THROUGH a process of change and discovery
—usually ALONE—in order to emerge into the light of realization
of rewards. There are challenges along the way, bumps in the road.
Look back to Luke Skywalker in Star Wars to understand how this
story plays out.
Most distributors experience these bumps and challenges—there
will often be many. Most people—sadly—succumb to the challenges
and find it easier and more comfortable to stay the way they've
been INSTEAD of mustering the courage and effort to CHANGE into
something better. This is a big time of testing for a new distributor,
and while we can lend support and encouragment, it remains that
each new distributor must go through these challenges herself
on her journey to success.
Often, it'll be up to you to explain this to her—no one else
ever has.
Many, when exposed to the possibility that success in Network
Marketing can provide, will long to feel better about themselves.
Most know they have a ways to go. This goes to the need to BUILD
BELIEF IN YOURSELF. That only happens through SELF DEVELOPMENT
—reading good books and studying tape albums, attending the right
events and trainings (live or conference calls).
